I Love Food: Antipasto!

This week’s I Love Food post is an Italian favorite. Being Italian I was able to collect a large amount of ILF photos during the holidays. I was also able to gain ten pounds from eating a week’s worth of lasagna during the break – but that is a different story. Maybe I should check out our Lifestyle section to see how to shed that Winter 15 ;).

Anyway, this is the first course of four to all of our holiday meals. You might be familiar with it when you go to an Italian restaurant. The one my Aunt makes consists of various meats and cheeses. As you can see there are also peppers and anchovies, but it is safe to say we eat around the anchovies. It is finalized with a layer of nice olive oil, extra virgin olive oil is the way to go. It makes all of the items nice and moist.

My favorite thing to do is take fresh mozzarella and one of the meats and put it on a nice piece of Italian or semolina bread. If I was stuck on an island the one thing I’d want to eat for the rest of my time would be salami and mozzarella on bread.

When going to a deli that is always something I order. You should try it with roasted red peppers and balsamic vinegrette. De-e-licious!
