Not only does meditation help decrease cortisol – the stress hormone that decreases the ability to fight off fat – but it also helps emotional eaters refocus on the big picture. Mindful meditation is easy: Find a quiet place, get comfortable, close your eyes, and breathe in and out at a natural pace. Acknowledge your breaths, focusing on each inhale and exhale. After 7 minutes or so, open your eyes and slowly bring yourself back!
