(PCM) Nothing makes you want to swear off coloring than those unwanted red and orange tones that come with dye jobs, but thankfully, celebrity hair guru Kyle White has the solution – and it can be found in your kitchen!
The hair colorist tells Glamour, “The number one complaint I get from clients about their hair color is about fading/oxidation. Whether this is caused by sun exposure or just plain shampooing, it most often means some shade of orange.”
His solution? Betty Crocker Food Color Gel!
“Betty Crocker Food Color Gel comes in four primary colors, red, blue, yellow and green. You want to mix a pea size drop with shampoo of whatever color is opposite the offending tone in your hair color. For example by mixing blue food coloring with shampoo, you will neutralize the orange in your hair color. This is the same way purple shampoos remove yellow in grey hair or very light blondes. Then follow up with a regular shampoo and condition.”
