(PCM) It’s no secret that Mario Lopez knows a thing or two about healthy living and fitness, and he’s serving up some of his favorite recipes, tips, and rules to live by if you want to look as good as he does…or at least somewhere in the same ballpark. The TV host, actor, and family man shares his lifestyle tips in his book, “Extra Lean: The Fat-Burning Plan That Changes the Way You Eat for Life,” which he says is about “educating yourself and not being scared of food.”
“Three simple rules I like to stress are, No. 1, having carbs, protein, and fat at every meal. No. 2, eating frequently throughout the day. And No. 3, portion control. We’ve become this society of all you can eat buffet, big gulps, and these large plates,” Lopez said.
His book outlines a seven-week nutrition plan that can help you lose up to 14 pounds in 14 days! But most importantly, Lopez says, is learning the basics of nutrition, which is what his book is really all about. “Embracing food, learning to embrace food, learning the basics of nutrition, changing your body and life forever because diets don’t work,” he said.
According to sources, he lifts weights and boxes three times a week, and does 500 push-ups every day. He also bikes, runs, swims, does yoga, and plays basketball the other 4 days.
