(PCM) Fans of Oreo cookies have a reason to get excited. The brand just announced that they will be releasing two new flavor varieties which are Cookie Dough and Marshmallow Crispy.
While the new flavors have been spotted on a few store shelves across the country, the actual launch date for the new flavors will be February 3rd, 2014. Right now the new flavors are said to be only available for a limited time, so we are guessing it will depend on how well they ultimately sell to see if these new flavors will stick around in the future.
Staff members at TIME were able to taste test the new cookie flavors and many were claiming that the Cookie Dough flavor actually tasted a bit more like coffee and caramel, and most agreed that the Marshmallow Crispy was the better of the two. As with any group taste testing experiment, some people loved the new flavors and others absolutely hated them.
If you plan to be watching the Grammy’s this Sunday there will be a special hashtag revealed in the Oreo commercial that is set to air during the show. Fans can tweet using the hashtag for a chance to win some free cookies before they’re available to anyone else.
Oreo has never shied away from creating interesting flavor combinations, however only a few have actually stuck around. We are big fans of the Berry Blast and Peanut Butter Oreo creme flavors, and we were dying to try the Candy Corn flavor back around Halloween, but were never able to find it in any stores. Hopefully we will not run into that problem when looking to get our hands on a package of the new Cookie Dough or Marshmallow Crispy flavors to see if we are fans!
