I LOVE FOOD: Ranch Powder, Blue Cheese, Buffalo Fries

Categories: I Love Food!, Lifestyle, NJ

This week’s I LOVE FOOD post is a heart attack in a shoe string-shaped potato. Even writing the title for this piece I thought, “wow… people probably think I will die by the time I am 30.”

I went to a restaurant in Hoboken, NJ that served up this sensational combination. When my friend said we will get the spicy Ranch fries (her own version of what this dish is called) I just thought, alright…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: S’More Cookies.. S’More of What?

This week’s I LOVE FOOD post takes after an old childhood favorite. S’Mores. I can’t tell you what a treat it was when I found marshmallows, Hershey bars, and Graham crackers stowed away in my mother’s cabinet. Once I had all of the ingredients, it was roasting time.

My friend recently brought these cookies over to a friend’s house where we were having “girls’ night” with Sangria, snacks, and girl talk. You’d think that boys, Snooki’s new baby, or…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Epcot Specialties From Hawaii

I love Epcot, I love Epcot, I love Epcot… Did I mention that I love Epcot? Recently I had a business trip to Orlando, FL to attend a conference. I am so grateful that my job will send me to awesome locations. We have another one each year in St. Louis, but Orlando takes the cake in the “best places to have a business trip” category.

The hotel we stay at is right next to Epcot – it is…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Pizza Bread

I love food, I love pizza, I love pizza bread. This week’s post is a new take on an old favorite, okay I sound like the introduction to a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives episode.

My mother makes the best pizza bread. I can’t tell you how excited I got to see her concocting the masterpiece when I got home from work, then to see there was some leftover the next day.

She starts with a basic dough. You can either…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Homemade Pizza

(PCM) This week’s I LOVE FOOD item is homemade pizza. I am not talking about the “Mom and Pop” pizzeria-style. I am talking about the legit, cooked in your home experience.

My family is infatuated with homemade pizza night, which usually lands on a Friday. It definitely lands on a Friday during Lent, but any day is a good day for some cheesy goodness.

The way we concoct our carb-packed creations is first by purchasing the dough. My family goes…Read full post

Trick But No Treats

(PCM) “In girl world, Halloween is the “one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”  I guess I quote Mean Girls way too much, but come on, even guys enjoy this 2004 chick flick! I sometimes have a hard time articulating my point, so I turn to Tina Fey’s masterpiece to sum it up for me.

As Halloween fast approaches, it all boils down to one question: What are you going to be? As…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Burger & Beer Joint

(PCM) This week’s I LOVE FOOD piece comes from the Sunshine State. Burger and Beer joint is located in South Beach, Miami and was actually featured on the show Man v. Food. You know, the show where Food usually wins versus Man.

This quaint burger palace is packed with Grade A meat and plenty of beer, as the name suggests. My family of five was starving one day, and we decided to travel to a place that had been…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Pizza Bread

20120926-202111.jpg

(PCM) This week’s I LOVE FOOD item is pizza bread. Some people might look at the above picture and call it a Stromboli. Whatever way you slice it (pun intended) it is pizza-related. So therefore Paisan, we are both right. At the end of the day, who cares what it is called as long as it tastes good!

The reason why I call it a pizza bread, is because it is literally a rolled up pizza. What you do is buy a dough and…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Tuna Melts

I want to pretend this week’s I LOVE FOOD post is healthy for you, but it’s not. This week’s post is the tuna melt. I was first exposed to this melt my sophomore year in college, and I thought it was amazing.

I guess back in college it was the “healthier” option as my diet usually consisted of buffalo chicken calzones and chicken salad bagels.

The fact that melted cheese is the key factor in this recipe, makes it a…Read full post

I LOVE FOOD: Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes

(PCM) This week’s I LOVE CHEESECAKE piece involves milk’s favorite cookie. I recently attended a barbeque and instead of asking for seconds of the bacon cheeseburgers, I stole some thirds of these.

My friend had made Oreo cheesecake cupcakes. At first I was skeptical. As an avid cheesecake eater, I prefer the simple New York Style cheesecake with a little raspberry syrup drizzle. Sometimes with this dessert, I feel like less is more.

When I was younger, however, I…Read full post
