Bill Gates Pledges $750 Million to Troubled Global AIDS Fund

Bill Gates just pledged a further $750 million to the troubled global AIDS fund and is urging governments to also continue their support in saving lives.

“These are tough economic times, but that is no excuse for cutting aid to the world’s poorest,” he said in Davos at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Teen Collapses After Eating Just Chicken Nuggets and Fries for 15 years

A 17-year-old British girl was rushed and admitted to the hospital after she collapsed at work and had trouble breathing. Turns out, she’s been eating nothing but chicken nuggets and french fries for the past 15 years.

New Health Guidelines For Runway Models Released

Finally some new standards are being set in the world of runway modeling. On Thursday, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) released an updated set of guidelines to combat the dangerously thin runway trend, and to ensure the models walking in New York Fashion Week are in good health.

School Lunches Get First Overhaul in 15 Years

Congress is taking step in right direction towards fighting childhood obesity, through better nutrition guidelines for school lunches. Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the new guidelines yesterday during elementary school visits. The first lady believes better nutrition will help children perform and learn better, too.
