10 Year Old Forced To Wear Thrift Store Clothing As Punishment For Being A Bully!

(PCM) A Utah woman has come under fire for forcing her 10-year old step-daughter to wear a thrift-store wardrobe to school after learning that the child was bullying a classmate over the way that she dresses.

After recieving an email from the child’s teachers, explaining that Kaylee was taking another child out on the playground and telling her she dressed like a slob and a sleaze for several weeks, Kaylee’s parents decided to take matters into their own hands.

In a slightly controversial decision as a way to punish Kaylee for the bullying behavior, her step-mother went down to the local thrift shop and purchased $50 worth of clothing that she knew Kaylee would be embarrassed to wear. Kaylee was in tears when she first saw the clothing, but was able to accept her punishment. Kaylee claims that her classmates talked about her behind her back while she was wearing the clothing and she did learn her lesson about treating others the way that you would like to be treated.

The school officials were made aware of Kaylee’s punishment and her new ‘wardrobe’ only lasted for two days, but that was enough for Kaylee to learn her lesson. The news about Kaylee’s punishment for bullying has brought about mixed reactions from the public with many thinking that it was too harsh, and Kaylee’s parents are bullies themselves, however many feel that it was a fantastic way to teach young Kaylee what it is like to walk in someone else’s shoes for a bit, as well as, the idea to treat others the way that you would like to be treated.

We want to hear from you!  Do you think that Kaylee’s punishment was too harsh or a good life lesson about the effects of bullying? Weigh in now!
