Whether your trying to keep your new years resolution to get fit, or attempting to squeeze into a bikini for spring break, these new fitness trends are fun and get results.
1.Zumba is a latin inspired dance fitness workout that has easy to follow exersise steps. This workout’s popularity grew in 2010, and continues to gain fans in the new year. The program allows those to get fit in a fun way that makes excerise feel like a party!
2.Fitness Boot Camp is an intense workout that is designed to push participants’ excerise to a point they would not go to themselves. The class is usually 4-8 weeks focus on traditional calisthenic and strengh training. The class also requires participants to do pushups and interval training with little rest between exersising. Kim Kardashian is a fan of fitness boot camps, saying “It’s torture but it’s amazing. I see a difference right away when I go.”
3.Small group training is another way of exersising that is gaining popularity in 2011. Most of us workout alone, with a partner, or in a large class, but small group training can also be benefiial and fun. The small group dynamic allows bonding that doesn’t occur in large exersise classes. Small group training can be offered in many formats including yoga, pilates, and weight training, and can range from 3-6 people.
4.Wellness Services are also being offered at many gyms and fitness clubs. With more focus on the role that stress can play on a person’s health, and more knowledge of nutrional facts, fitness centers are including a one stop health shopping for its members.
5. Supsesnsion training is another fitness trend that we will see a lot of in 2011. The workout includes a Suspension Trainer ($170) that ways less than 2 pounds. The workout requires the person to use their own weight as resistance, hook it up toa sturdy place, like a door or tree. Jennifer Lopez uses the equitment to work her upper and lower body, back, and abs.
