Anna Kournikova Will Not be Returning to Biggest Loser

Anna Kournikova will not be returning for another season of The Biggest Loser. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kournikova clashed with a bunch of staffers, and some of the contestants found her “a bit brash”.  Instead of sympathizing with the contestants when they complained about intense training, she would tell them about her own tough upbringing. A source on the show even called Kournikova “a nightmare!”

While Kournikova and her reps haven’t commented on those claims, they have confirmed that she is leaving the show after one season. The tennis star issued this statement:

“I enjoyed my time on the Biggest Loser ranch. Although I will not be returning as a full time trainer on season 13, I will always be a part of The Biggest Loser family and my commitment to bettering lives through health and fitness will continue.”

It’s true that she didn’t come off very warm or sympathetic to the overweight contestants, but aside from that most of the eliminated contestants speak highly of her personal training skills. Joe Mitchell, last week’s eliminated contestant, had this to say about Anna:

“Anna, to me, was an amazing trainer. She truly, and I have told her this, she has affected me – my life, my family for generations because she fixed my thinking and she truly made me know that I could do this,
and that helped prepare me to go home.

She did so much to drill into our heads that really at the end of the day the only person you can count on is yourself. And that did so much to get me ready to go home. I had no fear because she’s fixed that part
of me. I appreciate that so much, and she prepared me for that.”

Hmm…sounds like there’s probably more to this story! Whatever the case may be, Kournikova’s out and there will be yet another new trainer whipping people into shape on The Biggest Loser. Maybe it’s time to bring Jillian back!?
