Best Time To Schedule Doctor’s Appointments

(PCM) Do you find that you’re often waiting longer than you should at the doctor’s office? It could have to do with the time of day you’re scheduling your appointments.

The best time to schedule a doctor’s appointment is 8 a.m. Why? Doctor’s start on time in the morning, and throughout the day fall behind on schedule due to late patients, overbooking, or other unexpected issues. Plus, doctor’s aren’t as stressed about being overbooked and behind, so you may get better care and attention at this time.

But it’s not all about spending time in the waiting room. There are also certain times of the day you should schedule appointments for safety and overall effectiveness.

According to Dr. Oz, it’s a little different when it comes to the dentist. The best time for dentist appointments is 2 pm, but only if you need dental work that requires local anesthesia. A European study found that local anesthesia lasts longer in the afternoon, which doctors believe is because your body naturally makes more epinephrine which helps it last more effectively.

When is the best time to schedule a surgery? Mid-morning, around 10 a.m., is best. Why? “Because we get warmed up a little bit,” joked Doctor Oz. Yikes!
