Don Q Rum has rolled out the red carpet to make it easy to host an Oscar party that will leave your guests feeling like movie stars. Esteban Ordoñez, Don Q’s Master Mixologist has concocted drink ideas inspired by three of this year’s nominees for Best Picture!
The Don Q Mississippi Sucker Punch is a drink that captures the balance between the sweet southern bell and a confidant, kick-ass woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get it like the characters in The Help.
Ingredients: 
15 oz DON Q AÑEJO
5 oz DON Q LIMÓN
5 oz Lime Juice
20 oz Apple Cider 10 oz Hibiscus Tea & Ginger Syrup
10 oz Distilled Water thin slices of Fuji Apple
Pour ingredients into a large punch bowl and whisk together.
Don Q’s Vengeful Dragon is inspired by the tough and gritty storyline of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. This suits the tastes of anyone who is intrigued by the complex and mysterious nature of the stories main character Lisbeth Salander.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz DON Q AÑEJO
3/4 oz Orange Curacao Liqueur
2 oz Sour Mix
Rim the Martini glass with an orange wedge. Then rim with sugar and cinnamon. Pour the Añejo, curacao, and fresh, homemade sour mix into a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a martini glass.
The Moneyball Slugger is a cocktail fit for any baseball fan or those of you who like to think outside of the box. These cocktails are inspired by the risk taking in the Oscar nominated film Moneyball.
Ingredients:
2 ounces DON Q CRISTAL RUM
5 pieces Diced Cucumber
5 sprigs Cilantro
4 drops Sriracha
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
Splash Club Soda
*Dissolve one part sugar to one part hot water. Let it cool. Muddle cucumber, cilantro, sriracha and syrup in a rocks glass. Add ice and rum. Roll drink from glass to shaker to glass. Top it with club soda. Garnish with cucumber slice and cilantro.
