Donna Karen Reveals How to Dress 10 Pounds Thinner

Stop asking “Does this dress make me look fat?” and start dressing ten pounds thinner! Designer Donna Karen knows a thing or two about dressing the female body, and she promises that you can instantly drop ten pounds with the right outfit… I’ll take it!

Here’s what you need:

A V-Neck blouse. One body part that never looks fat or bloated? Your neck! Go with a v-neck or off-the-shoulder top to draw the eye up toward your shoulders and neck. Anything vertical – stripes, ruffles, or other vertical pattern – will also lengthen the body.

Flared trouser pants. Trouser pants have roomy legs that help balance your figure out, says Karen. Avoid slit side pockets that draw attention to your kips and opt for pants with front pockets instead.

Slim watch. Karen says that a watch with a rectangular face is more flattering than a round one. Other accessories to add that won’t pile on the pounds are statement necklaces; an eye-catching necklace highlights the always-slender spot – your collarbone.

High heels. Length your legs and create a long lean line with a good pair of heels. But avoid pairs with ankle straps, which usually just ake your legs look shorter.

Handheld bags. A handheld satchel doesn’t add bulk and unnecessary bulk like a shoulder tote does.
