Chamomile tea isn’t just for night time – it may actually help prevent blood sugar fluctuation and prevent type 2 diabetes.
A recent study found when rats with diabetes were fed chamomile tea, the animals had significant decreases in blood sugar and lower levels of compounds that can cause diabetes complications. Further research is needed to discover the full benefits of the herb, but those with diabetes may reap the same benefits. Try drinking a cup after meals, or at least a cup after dinner. It may help control blood sugar levels (which can get a little out of control this time of year), and you can always count on it to help you fall asleep.
