Kim Kardashian’s Big Mistake
August 20, 2011 is now a day that will live in reality TV infamy. Kim Kardashian wed beau of 9 months Kris Humphries in a lavish, $10 million extravaganza in Montecito, Calif. By Halloween, just 72 days later, Kardashian, 31, filed for divorce from the NBA star, 26. But pals tell Us Weekly that Kardashian saw red flags before that big, hugely publicized day. “She knew it was wrong before they were even married,” a Kardashian insider says. “They were not seeing eye to eye and it felt wrong.” As she and her family were putting the finishing touches on the wedding, “she was calling friends, telling them she didn’t want to do it,” the source reveals to Us.
In the end, however, with so many expectations riding on the nuptials, “she felt like she couldn’t turn back,” another pal says. “She got in over her head. She made a big mistake and she knows it.” Kardashian admitted as much in an emotional blog post Tuesday — her first since Monday’s shocking divorcing filing. “I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have,” she wrote. “I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn’t know how to and didn’t want to disappoint a lot of people.”
Demi Moore Hanging on to Ashton
Demi Moore’s insecurities are preventing her from letting go of Ashton Kutcher. “She’s totally humiliated and angry, but she doesn’t want him to leave her,” a Moore insider tells Us. After their 2005 nuptials, the balance of fame shifted. Moore has gotten smaller film parts, while Kutcher went mainstream with flicks like Valentine’s Day and Killers before landing the lead on Two and a Half Men. “He became the more bankable star, while she got older,” the insider says. “When you meet her, the insecurities just spill out,” a concerned friend reveals to Us. “She needs to get help ASAP.”
LAUREN & KYLE: Awkward Reunion!
Lauren Conrad got spooked by a ghost of relationships past at Matthew Morrison’s October 29 Halloween party: her ex-boyfriend Kyle Howard, 33. Upon spotting him, Conrad, 25 — who attended the Bing/Svedka– sponsored bash at West Hollywood’s Voyeur nightclub without new beau Derek Hough — “got flustered,” says a source, and fled to the bathroom to primp in her Britney Spears costume. The exes, who broke up in May after three years together, spoke briefly and even posed for pictures in a photo booth. (Howard was decked out as the viral video sensation Honey Badger.) But when Conrad moved on to flirt with Chace Crawford, 26 — who was dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle — Howard “couldn’t take his eyes off Lauren,” says the source. Later that night, the former flames reconnected at actor Shawn Pyfrom’s house party, where they chatted on a couch. “For Lauren, there are still strong feelings there,” says a friend. “Derek is just a fun distraction for now.”
LADY GAGA: Smitten by ‘Hot’ Beau
Lady Gaga, 25, is sinking her teeth into Vampire Diaries star Taylor Kinney, 30, whom she met on the set of her “Yoü and I” video in July. (Ironically, Gaga wrote the love song for ex Lüc Carl!) “They’re hooking up and getting to know each other,” says a Gaga source. But the pair — who were spotted leaving NYC’s Alvin Ailey dance studio in mid-October — aren’t serious. “Gaga can’t be too committed because she works 24/7,” says the source. “But she thinks he’s super cute!” Apparently, he’s quite a catch. When Hot Stuff asked Diaries’ Kat Graham if Kinney is romantic, she said, “Gaga would know more than I would! But he’s genuinely sweet — not an a–hole actor at all!”
Elisabetta’s New Man
George, who? Elisabetta Canalis, 33, has rebounded from her two-year romance with George Clooney — which ended in June — with True Blood hunk Mehcad Brooks, 31. “They’re dating,” says a source of the month-long courtship. “They started seeing each other after she left Dancing With the Stars.” Although Canalis, a former Italian TV personality, recently moved to L.A., she was spotted back in Europe with Brooks on October 26 at a Berlin hotel. Says the source: “She already refers to him as her boyfriend. They’re really cute.”
