This week’s I Love Food adventure comes to us from Mossuto’s Market in Spring Lake, NJ. If you live near the Jersey Shore this is a MUST to visit. This Italian deli/restaurant makes the most amazing food.
You can go there during the day to grab anything from their counters such as homemade pasta, cured meats, pasta salads, or (another fave of mine) the breads. Now, I don’t mean any kind of bread, I mean stuffed breads. For the meat lover’s delight, you can get a sausage and mozzerella-stuffed bread. Or, for those veggies-only please peeps you can enjoy the broccoli and mozzerella one too. Although I personally love sausage, the broccoli one is to-dine for! You can easily take them home and stick them in the oven for a few minutes. This makes the outside nice and crispy with the insides full of a garlic-infused cheese. Oh, and broccoli!
Getting back to the mushroom risotto… you can also eat there in the evening whether you walk in or make reservations. They turn down the lights and turn up the Frank Sinatra music. This is a perfect location to take someone on a nice romantic date, as the place holds only a few tables, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. And order that date a mushroom risotto, because this creamy dish bursts with flavor. Let’s put it this way, I don’t like mushrooms, but I will eat this dish any time of the day. Literally, I took this picture at 10 AM! 🙂
