This week’s I Love Food post comes from the Grand Luxe Cafe. I don’t know if you have one near you, but they are also partnered with The Cheesecake Factory. So, if you have one of those places by you… GET A DESSERT.
Grand Luxe Cafe even offers “made to order” desserts. They had to give me the menu when I ordered my entree, since it could take some treats up to 30 minutes to bake. Talk about fresh and fabulous.
My final answer was a strawberry shortcake. I am not kidding when I say this is the best SS that I have ever had. I swear on my iPhone that this is the truth.
The main reason why it is so good is that they serve the cake warm. Not only warm, but coated in granules of sugar. When you bite into it the vanilla ice
cream has melted on top, providing even more of a sweet flavor, and you also get the crunchy outside. The juxtaposition of the cold ice cream to the warm cake is killer.
In addition, the strawberry juice finds its invitation to the party too. It seeps into the cake’s crust giving it a hint of berry.
Okay, I need to go for a five mile run now.
