Jane Lynch has launched a non-profit website to help educate students and families about their options for financing college.
At the press conference, the Glee actress explained: “I really jumped at the opportunity to support this initiative because it is something that has affected my family. I have a ten-year-old daughter who will be going to college in eight years as well as nieces and nephews who are dealing with student loans right now.”
The website is called the National College Finance Center, and it is an interactive, non-profit website that provides state-specific information on scholarships, grants and loans. It even provides customized information about the best way to pay off debt!
“There are billions of dollars owed by people that are over 60 years old. It follows you through life. So it’s a really important decision you make as you’re about to go to college.”
“It’s a terrific resource for researching and finding the best student loan for you, so you can avoid majoring in debt,” Lynch told CTM, adding that she hopes the website allows students and their families to become “armed with information” and not be “blindsided” when they graduate.
You don’t have to go broke to further your education! Check out your options at collegefinancecenter.org.
