Only four months after giving birth to her second child, Jessica Alba is back to her pre-pregnancy body, and Hollywood moms and mom-to-be are jealous! Alba is the first to admit, however, that getting her body back was not an easy task, and maybe people shouldn’t be so envious.
“I have a hard time with portion control, so I have 1,200-calorie meals delivered. But I also work out, so basically I’m starving – it sucks,” Alba said of her post-baby shape-up plan. “To get back in shape I start by exercising for about an hour a day, then go up to three hours, five days a week. I do a lot of cardio and some core strengthening.”
3 hours a day!?! Who has time for that! Or the energy? That seems really extreme, especially for new moms. But it is Hollywood we’re talking about, and new moms and a moms-to-be are looking to Alba’s post-baby bod as motivation.
Jessica Simpson is the latest mom-to-be who’s looking to Alba for a little inspiration. She tweeted, “New goal: look like Jessica Alba after baby. Job well done, lady!”
It might not be too far a reach for Simpson who reportedly signed a post-pregnancy $4 million Weight Watchers deal! She’ll whittle down in no time, and probably look even better after her baby is born!
Alba looks great, but she certainly isn’t the first Hollywood mom to get back to pre-pregnancy size in no time. Mel B just gave birth 3 months ago and has already lost most of her pregnancy weight, thanks to weight loss program Jenny Craig. She says:
“The wonderful thing about this eating plan is it is all portion controlled and calorie counted, so I don’t have to think. I have to eat regularly, every two to three hours. Even though I’m tired I’m coping really well, if I keep eating well and combine it with cardio workouts three times a week, then it’s a done deal.”
Sure, it would be great to lose all the weight in just four months, but that’s not always realistic for most moms. Not everyone can afford expensive weight loss programs, food delivery systems, or to spend hours at the gym everyday! Just focus on eating healthy and gaining your strength back before you start beating yourself up to look like Hollywood moms.
