Jessica Simpson Reveals Weight Loss Plan

Jessica Simpson is ready to get back to her pre-baby weight, but she’s not about to go on any extreme fad diet to get there. This time around, the new mom says she wants to lose weight the healthy way and stop yo-yo dieting for good.

“I think anybody who’s gone through a pregnancy, after they have the baby, it’s like, ‘I need to do something about this,’ ” she told People Magazine. “For me, I really want to do something that is a lifestyle, because in the past, I’ve been known to yo-yo diet.”

In fact, that’s why she signed a $4 million contract with Weight Watchers, which she was actually planning on starting before learning she was pregnant. Everything was put on hold and the star gained a reported 70 plus pounds during her pregnancy, but now, Simpson is ready and “so excited to be part of the Weight Watchers family,” she tweeted yesterday.

Weight Watchers is just as thrilled, saying in a statement:

“We’re thrilled that Jessica Simpson has chosen to join Weight Watchers to adopt a healthier lifestyle and inspire others to do the same. Her talent, resilience and positive outlook already make her a great role model. And by deciding to trade in yo-yo dieting for a healthier lifestyle, we know she will inspire many women to join her.”

“I was like, ‘I’m going to enjoy my pregnancy,’ and I did,” Simpson said. “I ate very healthy, but I did indulge some of my cravings – and that’s okay because I know I can work it off now.”

She hasn’t been medically cleared to start working out yet, but says she is excited to get back in the gym – she even has friends some friends signed up with her!

“There’s not a goal weight – I just want to feel normal and fixate on inches,” she says. “I really want to set small goals, so I’m constantly reaching goals and not looking at something so far ahead.”

Slow and steady is the way to go!
