(PCM) Kraft Foods has revealed that they are calling for a voluntary recall on over 36,000 cases of their individually wrapped cheese singles claiming that part of the wrapper could cause a possible choking hazard. The recall includes 3-4 pound packages of American and white American Kraft singles. The affected products have a “best when used by” date between December 29, 2015, and January 4, 2016, followed by the manufacturing code “S54” or “S55.”
The company explains that they called for the recall after discovering that a thin strip of the film packaging could remain adhered to the slice of cheese after it has been removed. If the consumer fails to notice the strip of film packaging and consumes the product it could possibly lead to a choking hazard.
Thus far the company has received ten complaints about the issue and three reports of choking. Anyone that has purchased an effected package can return it to the point of purchase for an exchange or a full refund.
