Michael Stagliano: “I’m looking. I’m ready to love!”

Michael Stagliano, Bachelor Pad’s Season 2 winner, is enjoying some time away from all the Bachelor emotional drama – seriously, does anyone stay together from this show? His vacation at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto in Mexico came just in time, and he’s loving that there’s not a soul in sight.

“There’s no one here – It’s like ‘The Shining’! Okay, I’m exaggerating slightly – I’m not actually ready to axe down doors and kill people…It’s 40 miles north of Cabo, so it’s Mexico and it’s beautiful and its gorgeous here, but there are no human beings! So it makes it – for me – great! I’ve been traveling a lot the last 3 months and its just been a whirl wind of craziness, so silence, an ocean breeze, a ton of sun and my book is amazing. I have literally been in heaven.”

Michael brought his cousin along, despite rumors of dating Chelsea Hightower (though he kind of is).

“It’s true that I want to be involved in a relationship with Chelsea Hightower. We went on a date that was, oh it was a 10 out of 10. I loved every second of it. We went to a horrific Mexican dinner and it didn’t even matter that the food was bad because we just sat and talked for hours. She came back to my place and it was like 3 in the morning before she went home and we literally just sat at my table and talked and laughed hysterically. So I’ve been just dying for a second date! But she obviously travels a lot and I’ve been traveling a lot so we literally haven’t even been able to go on a second date – its been months. We’ve got plans to see each other again when I get back, so hopefully hopefully hopefully. But yeah I cant even say we’re dating. We went on one date and then I haven’t seen her. I’m looking man, I’m looking. I’m ready to love!”

Aww! And he’s a philanthropic bachelor. He gave away some of his ‘Bachelor Pad’ winnings, in fact, he said most of it is already gone: “I gave away a bunch of it and I guess I kind of already spent a good chunk, which is great! I bought a guitar first because that’s my first love…so I just got this beautiful Martin and then I gave 10% to a church that I go to, to help out. ”

He also says he was surprised he won the show:

“I was. I thought that being “partnered with Holly” before going into the house was going to hurt me but you know, winning half the challenges certainly made it easier to get to the end. I thought people would kind of be like ‘I haven’t won at all, I’m not gonna let him win it – he had kind of an easy ride to finals.’ I certainly didn’t think 1 out of 18 were good odds to bet on for winning, so I was pleasantly surprised to come out with a win.”

He might have had an easy ride to finals, but it hasn’t always been easy when it comes to relationships. After making it to the end with former fiancee Holly Durst, he found out on camera that his ex was newly engaged to fellow contestant Blake Julian. Ouch! But he turned to his music, which has become his new love:

“I’ve been singing and writing songs since I was 18, and totally picked up a guitar for a girl…And oddly enough coming off of ‘Bachelor Pad’ there was quite a lot of emotion for me and I just wanted to dump it out somewhere. So I called up some buddies and we went to a recording studio and laid down 4 tracks and I [put] them up on iTunes just to share them because people were kind of asking. And it’s been received really well, and I’ve had tons and tons of downloads…It’s become a love. I just love it so much and I always loved it. I just started out playing and writing songs in my room – I could do that and will do that ’til the day I die, but having people receive it and enjoy it, and tweet me lyrics and sing along at shows, that’s one of the best things in the world.”
