Yesterday’s meals went like this: Breakfast was a cinnamon raisin bagel with about a tablespoon of Shed Spread, and four ounces of 1% Milk. For Lunch I had a Bumble Bee Ham Salad Lunch kit and a 0% fat peach yogurt and an apple. Dinner was a small portion of baked potato soup and a large green salad with carrots, cucumbers, celery and tomatoes. There was also some shredded chicken and a hard-boiled egg on the salad with some French dressing. I will probably have one of the frozen snacks I wrote about in day one.
Today I want to talk about exercise. This morning I walked for 25 minutes, I would have gone longer but I ended up with a blister on my big toe. It still hurts. We can’t get anywhere without daily exercise. There is a lot to choose from out there. You can join a gym, and the fees have dramatically dropped at many places. You can walk, ride a stationary bike or use a treadmill, or you can go out and buy a DVD.
Exercise DVDs are available everywhere – Amazon, Walmart, Target, I bet even your local market has exercise DVDs and a lot of them are great, but they all should come with one warning: Go at your own pace.
I bought Bob Harper’s Biggest Losers Beginners DVD, but I couldn’t keep up with all of these good-looking people who looked like they just finished a photo shoot for Vogue or GQ. I have learned now that we can eventually get up to the speed we are viewing, but it will take time.
Tony Horton who developed the P90X exercise plan and diet, has also come out with a beginner DVD. It is 23 minutes and he teamed up with a guy who weighs over 400 pounds to make it. It is at a good and safe pace, but Tony continually reminds his viewers to go at their own pace. The important thing is that we are moving. Now I was gifted this DVD by a P90X coach, but you can actually view the whole thing on YouTube. The DVD’s title is Pay It Forward.
I hope your day is going well. I hope you are eating right and exercising. I also hope you contact me here and let me know about yourself.
