(PCM) It may sound a bit counterproductive (who wants to get on a roller coaster ride when you they already feel like throwing up?), but has introduced its first winged rollercoaster, The Swarm, which promises to be the “ultimate hangover cure.”
When Thorpe Park amusement park in Surrey, UK, saw a 250 percent increase in people throwing up on rides, they decided it was time to do something about it! So, they created the Swarm, a 60mph rollercoaster featuring a 128-foot drop. The drop apparently sends a blast of oxygen to your body which speeds the metabolic rate of an intoxicated person, and increases the speed of which toxins are broken down.
“We felt it was our duty to ensure that all of our guests enjoy the extreme nature of our rides and by putting them on the Swarm, which is proven to be the ultimate hangover cure,” says Mike Vallis, divisional director of Thorpe Park. “We are confident our guests will have a great, and hopefully vomit-free, day.”
They also felt it was their duty to keep drunk people off the rest of their rides. They’ve actually installed a breathalyzer next to the height bar at the park, and if you fail, you’re sent straight to the Swarm to sober up!
