The Green Coffee Bean: The New Fat-Burning Superfood?

There’s a new superfood making headlines for its weight-loss powers, and according to the people over at the Dr. Oz Show, it’s not a hype. It’s the green coffee bean, and with or without a diet and exercise plan this magic bean can help you burn fat..fast. Sound too good to be true?

A recent study published in the Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity journal followed a group of 16 adults for 12 weeks who were supplementing with green coffee been. Over the course of the study, the subjects lost an average of 17 pounds each – 10.5% of their overall body weight and 16% of their overall body fat!

So what are green coffee beans and what makes them an effective weapon against fat? Green coffee beans are unroasted, have little aroma and are extremely bitter compared to roasted beans because they contain over 50% chlorogenic acid – the key fat fighting ingredient, which is removed from roasted beans. Chlorogenic acid is a natural active compound which inhibits the release of glucose in the body, while boosting the metabolism or the “burning” of fat in the liver at the same time.

Green coffee bean is not a stimulant; in fact, it has only about 20 mg of caffeine per serving, compared to at least 100 mg in a cup of coffee. So you won’t experience a fast heart rate or jitters.

DoctorOz.com recommends taking a 400 mg pure green coffee bean capsules – make sure they are pure and contain absolutely no fillers or binders. Take two capsules about 30 minutes before meals; two or three times per day with a full glass of water for the best results.
