Kim had no choice but to part from Kris Humphries
Insiders tell Us Magazine that Kris was verbally abusive, overly controlling, and often chose partying over being with his new wife.
In the court of public opinion, Kim has been tried and convicted of bailing on her marriage after just 72 days. But insiders say the mogul simply had no choice but to end it. Though Kim, 31, genuinely loved the NBA pro, 26, when they said “I do” at their grand $10 million August wedding, Humphries began to reveal a Mr. Hyde side to his personality. “He belittled her in front of people,” says a Kardashian insider. “He’d call her stupid. It was truly sickening.” The insider continues, “He tried to control Kim by bringing her down. He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn’t last.”
Once wed, Kim began to see just how much Humphries enjoyed the perks of being Mr. Kardashian. “He started to love the life, going out every night partying,” says the Kim pal. Out on the town, Humphries didn’t always act like a married man. During an early October trip (sans Kim) to Miami, Humphries “was definitely not on good behavior,” says the source. Indeed, one woman tweeted after encountering him at club Liv, “Dancing on [Humphries’] lap. . . . Best night of my life. . . . SORRY KIM.” But he didn’t seem sorry. “Kris was loving the attention and ‘cheers!’-ing with random girls,” says a club source. “And the girls were bragging about dancing up on Kim’s man.”
As for Kim, “She’s distraught and has been in bed a lot,” says a source. “Her sisters have been over. She wants to go on vacation and decompress.” Echoes the family source, “She’s taking time to figure her life out.”

Jennifer Lopez isn’t ready to say adios to Marc Anthony. An insider says the exes hooked up on November 8 while in Puerto Rico filming their talent competition, Q’Viva! The Chosen. Anthony was spotted picking up Lopez at the airport, and a source says, “Marc never stayed in his hotel room.” It seems likely the pair — who split in July after seven years of marriage — will have a repeat performance. Though the pop star, 42, is casually dating backup dancer Casper Smart, 24, one pal predicts she and Anthony, 43, will be intimate again while shooting Q’Viva! In December: “It’s inevitable. Marc has this hold over her.” Still, says a third insider, “They may sleep together, but they’re over.”
Biel’s in Charge
When Justin Timberlake, 30, and Jessica Biel, 29, reconciled in July after a five-month split, friends assumed this time they’d marry. And a source says it’ll be Biel who decides: “Justin thinks marriage would hurt his career, but if Jessica threatened to leave, he’d do it.” (His rep says he “separates his personal and professional lives.”) Explains the pal of the couple of four years — they cuddled at the November 11 wedding of Barry’s Bootcamp COO Joey Gonzalez and Jon Rollo — “He doesn’t want to lose her.”
