Why You Want To Drink More of This

(PCM) Drinking enough water throughout the day is one of the most important things you can do for your health; it’s right there next to eating healthfully and 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. The majority of the body is made up of water, after all!

It’s also a key component in weight loss: water helps fill you up, which can lead to less calorie intake, and it may also increase fat burning.

After you eat a big meal, fat burning is naturally slowed or even shut down because the body is busy breaking down the food, and what you drink with your meal can make a big difference. Studies have shown that drinking sugary drinks with your meals may prevent fat burning for as long as six hours post-meal, but water, on the other hand, has been associated with a faster return to fat burning – about 2 hours.

You don’t have to drink a gallon of water a day to stay hydrated and healthy; the recommended amount is just eight, eight-ounce glasses a day. And don’t forget about food! A lot of foods we eat on a daily basis contain large amounts of water; the highest water-based foods are tomatoes (90% water), watermelon, radishes, kale, and cucumbers, but nearly all fruits and vegetables have high water contents.

Bottom line: Water is the best choice for staying hydrated, healthy, and keeping your weight under control!
