Woman Gives Birth on Subway by Herself

Can you imagine giving birth all alone, or worse, alone on a subway? That’s exactly what happened to Wanda Dueno, a 24-year-old from New York City, when she was forced to bravely take matters into her own hands.

According to reports, Dueno was riding the J train after leaving a friend’s house in Queens to go to her sister’s house in the Bronx when she went into labor…at 1:30 in the morning! No one else was on the subway to help her deliver her baby.

Her due date wasn’t for five days, but there was no keeping this baby in! Dueno said as soon as her contractions began, she hit the emergency button on the train, but the baby wasn’t waiting for anyone; he was ready to come out. The 7-pound, 2-ounce little boy was born just as the train pulled to a stop.

The brave mother named her healthy baby boy Libasse.
