What In The World Is Sprite Thinking With Their Ridiculous New Ad Campaign?

Sprite-ad

(PCM) We have no idea who is in charge of the copy writing for Sprite’s newest ad campaign, but it seems as if they are pulling their material from a bunch of drunken frat boys on a Saturday night. People are already beginning to express outrage via social media in regards to the lemon-lime beverage’s confusing and wildly inappropriate ad’s that pretty much compare Sprite and “loose” women.

A few of the phrases in the ad campaign say things such as “She’s seen more ceilings than Michelangelo”, “A 2 at 10 is a 10 at 2!”, “One dip is never enough”, “If you have to give your taxi driver directions, you’re better off walking” and “You’re not popular. You’re easy”.  Ouch!

Seriously, who is coming up with this stuff, it is almost like some sort of bad joke! It appears that the ads in question are part of a website background takeover campaign, but even still, someone at Sprite still had to sign off on these ads we would assume. The Coca Cola company, makers of Sprite, claim that they are using the ad campaign as a way to simply “tell it like it is”, but most of the phraseology within these ads is just plain wrong and downright insulting.

They are using the slogan #BrutallyRefreshing to describe the ads and we are sure there will be some heads rolling the marketing department come Monday morning … how’s that for brutal?
