Biggest Loser Winner Jeremy Britt Talks Keeping The Weight Off and Paying it Forward

Jeremy Britt was crowned the winner of The Biggest Loser: No Excuses after losing 199 pounds – more than half his body weight!

If that weren’t impressive enough, the first thing Jeremy, 22, plans on doing with his $250,000 prize money is buy something big for a fellow contestant! He says:

“The first thing I got to do is buy Buddy a minivan. That’s the only thing I had planned because when he had left he said that all he wanted was a minivan out of the show. So I told him if I won I’d get him a minivan.”

So how did he prepare for the finale? Without Bob and Dolvett by his side, Jeremy says he stepped it up by working out all day long – literally! He admits:

“It’s hard to match the intensity that you get from like a three or four hour work out with Bob or Dolvett yelling at you. But one thing that I knew I could do is work out all day. I had the time to work out now so I just made sure I was doing three a day where I was working out – before I ate breakfast, afterwards, after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner. I was working out to just try and burn off everything that I’m eating, and then some, so I can have weight loss.”

All that hard work paid off at the finale when he beat out his sister Conda, which he certainly didn’t feel guilty about!

“It wasn’t difficult at all. Me and my sister are competitive in everything we do. She wants to win, I want to win, but obviously if one of us wins it’s a pretty good thing!. I wanted to beat her and I wasn’t going to take it easy on her at all. I wanted to destroy her.”

His plans for keeping the weight off and giving back:

“I’m just going to enjoy living life and enjoy being active. That’s a big word there is active. Stay active and the weight will stay off. I would like to get into speaking or something like that just to kind of share my story. I feel like there’s a lot of younger people that definitely find themselves relating to me that want to just hear what I have to say. And if I can help them in anyway possible I would love to do that.”

“I didn’t go on the show, you know, necessarily for anybody else. You have to be very selfish on this journey. But to hear that there’s people inspired by me and there’s people like what I’m doing, it’s amazing. Like Bear Grylls told me this morning I was amazing and I was like ‘oh my gosh, you’re Bear Grylls.’ So it’s really weird to me but it’s great because I was given such a great blessing and opportunity and if I’m able to help or just to share with somebody else I’m definitely trying to pay it forward.”

His advice for anyone trying to lose weight:

“Be active – just go for a walk. If you’re somebody who is not at the running levels or anything like that, if you just go for a walk one day and then you try and walk farther the next day or you try and walk faster the next day, you’ll get your endurance up there. Trust me, take it from me. I know it was hard in the beginning and it’s going to be very hard in the beginning for you. But if you keep at it, it will get easier and you will see results.”

And don’t quit if you don’t see results right away or hit a plateau! He says:

“There is definitely that feeling of plateau where you work your butt off and then you don’t see any results and you’re going, well was it worth it to do that, you know? Absolutely it was worth it to do that because hard work in my opinion always pays off. It may not pay off when you want it to or it may not show up right away, but it does pay off. You are getting stronger even though you’re not necessarily seeing a number weight loss. If you’re being active, it is paying off.”

Congratulations Jeremy!
