(PCM) A video which showcases an altercation between a high school bully and another teen defending his blind classmate has gone viral after a clip surfaced on Reddit. It was shared by a user whose brother filmed the melee and attends the high school at which the altercation took place. He claims that he does not know how or why the altercation began in the first place.
The incident took place at Huntington Beach High School and the video shows a teen bully viciously attacking a blind classmate named Austin, who was not making any attempt to fight back. Suddenly, just as the bully is about to land his final punch on the blind student he is clocked by another student who came to the defense of his classmate and knocked to the ground. The defender, whose name we believe to be Cody Pines, checked to be sure the blind student was unharmed and then proceeds to lay into the bully even more.
He reprimands him for picking on a blind student and threatens that if he ever picks on him again he will be sorry. There is some strong language and violence in the video below:
There has been an outpouring of support for the defender Cody and many hope that he will not be suspended for stepping in and setting the bully straight, as the high school has a zero tolerance policy for violence. School officials say that they are investigating the incident and it has now been revealed that the bully, Noah, has been arrested for misdemeanor battery and released to his parents care. They do not plan to press charges against Cody for the incident and in a comment Cody says he does not want to see Noah’s life ruined over the incident and he hopes now that everyone will hang out with Austin and show him some love because he really deserves it!
