(PCM) We are still wiping the tears from our eyes after watching the video of 92-year old World War II veteran Howard singing to his dying wife. The video which was filmed while Howard’s wife Laura was in hospice care has since gone viral and now has well over 4 million views and counting on YouTube.
Howard and Laura’s granddaughter says that the couple has been married for 73 years and when the heartwarming video was filmed Laura was told that she only had about a week left to live. Howard serenaded his wife with their song, which is “You’ll Never Know” by Rosemary Clooney w/Harry James, as it used to comfort her while he was away during World War II. The couple also sang the song together when they renewed their wedding vows to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
You can clearly see in the video the sheer amount of love this couple has for one another and after the video was posted Laura’s spirits were so lifted by the outpouring of love and support the couple received on social media that she was able to leave hospice care. Laura will now be spending her final days at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
