(PCM) A study was recent conducted at Yale University which has revealed evidence that depending upon how much alcohol content is in the liquid used for vaping and e-cigarettes a user could show signs of being drunk.
Researchers conducted an experiment where users vaped two different varieties of e-cigarettes. One variety had a .4 percent alcohol content and the other had a 23. 5 percent alcohol content. Not surprisingly, the users that vaped on the e-cigarettes with the higher percentage of alcohol content displayed poor motor skills, as well as, having detectable amounts of alcohol in their urine. However, it is worth noting that the study revealed that users of both varieties of e-cigarette never once said they physically felt in any way impaired.
E-cigarettes and vapes are considered unregulated products and while most that have been tested only seem to contain less that 1 percent alcohol content, there are quite a few others currently available on the market that do contain higher amounts. Many users do not even realize this at the time they are purchased because of the products unregulated nature.
The study also raises up the question about whether or not the higher levels of alcohol content present in certain varieties of e-cigarettes could potentially reinforce the addictive qualities of both the nicotine and alcohol itself in these products.
