Women would rather be happy and healthy than be financially secure, a new survey has revealed. Fitness Magazine found that more than two-thirds of women would rather be happy, healthy, and fit for life than never have to worry about money again. In fact, women would rather spend their money on exercising and other physical activities than men would!
Some interesting discoveries:
– More than 25% of women would rather spend their money on a favorite gym class than dinner out. Only 14% of men would.
– 40% of women have just enough money to pay their bills every month.
– 1 in 3 women say they are more frugal than their guy. Men are more likely to admit to being big spenders.
– Money is the number one thing couples fight about.
While it’s great that the majority of women choose health and happiness over wealth, living paycheck to paycheck and arguing over money can make that difficult to achieve. Try to find a healthy balance and track your spending. Just because your health is more important than money doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be on top of your finances.
Keeping track of the amount you spend every day will help you make better decisions and avoid impulse spending. Sometimes that new sports bra just isn’t in the budget! Once you’ve created a monthly budget – including all expenses like the mortgage, utility bills, groceries, etc. – create a separate savings account for splurges. When you want to take that new fitness class or go away on a yoga retreat, dip into this savings instead!
