Weighing yourself every day or even every other day is not necessary, in fact, it’s not recommended.
Our weight can fluctuate daily, depending on our activity level, foods we eat or “that time of the month.” For example, high fat foods, dairy, and too many carbohydrates can lead to bloating and temporary weight gain. And of course, all women know the effects of water retention during that time of the month; we don’t need a scale to tell us we’re a few pounds heavier!
Weighing yourself every day may be misleading and become an unhealthy obsession! Instead, weigh yourself once a week to make sure you’re still on track. But remember, it’s just a number. The scale doesn’t take muscle mass into account, so to get the most accurate measure of your progress take your measurements once a week, too. The number on the scale may not budge, but you could lose an inch off your waist!
