This week’s I Love Food post is NUTS. Full of coconut that is! Enter the homemade, chocolate-covered macaroon.
I am not a huge fan of store bought macaroons as it is such a hit or miss. Sometimes when you purchase macaroons in a store they are very dried out. You can literally taste each piece of dried up coconut as it comes across your palate.
But, my mother makes amazing homemade macaroons – plus she covers them in chocolate. She gets the coconut package and there is actually a recipe on them. I made it one time and it is so easy.
You just mix the ingredients and bake them. Once they are finished the final touch is heating melting chocolates. Once they are turned into pool of chocolate, you let the macaroons go for a dip. It is good to dip the macaroons using one end so that when people eat them they can hold onto the non-chocolate side as to not smear any on their hands, creating a clean eating experience.
