(PCM) This week’s I LOVE CHEESECAKE piece involves milk’s favorite cookie. I recently attended a barbeque and instead of asking for seconds of the bacon cheeseburgers, I stole some thirds of these.
My friend had made Oreo cheesecake cupcakes. At first I was skeptical. As an avid cheesecake eater, I prefer the simple New York Style cheesecake with a little raspberry syrup drizzle. Sometimes with this dessert, I feel like less is more.
When I was younger, however, I was obsessed with chocolate fudge-covered cheesecake. The rich creaminess is almost too much to handle now. Clearly when I was in my boy band days, my taste buds had no limits, neither did my limit for needing to own more Beanie Babies.
Fast forward a decade and a half later, I have focused on plain cheesecake. When I saw the Oreos crushed in this dessert, I thought that there would be too many flavors going on.
I was pleasantly wrong! The Oreo and cheese was actually a perfect combination, and there was a surprise Oreo on the bottom, which was the best part.
Putting a cookie at the bottom of a cheesecake, is brilliant. The moisture of the cookie softened, but the thickness remained to give me that same chocolate flavor. Yusmki!
