I LOVE FOOD: Pizza Bread

(PCM) This week’s I LOVE FOOD item is pizza bread. Some people might look at the above picture and call it a Stromboli. Whatever way you slice it (pun intended) it is pizza-related. So therefore Paisan, we are both right. At the end of the day, who cares what it is called as long as it tastes good!

The reason why I call it a pizza bread, is because it is literally a rolled up pizza. What you do is buy a dough and roll it out. You could put some flour at the rolling station to make sure it doesn’t stick to the pin.

All you have to do then is put whatever you want in it. Seriously! My family’s recommended choices would be ham, pepperoni, Swiss cheese, and shredded Mozzarella. Roll it up tight into a shoe horn shape as you will have a lot of dough to work with.

All you have to do is brush it with some olive oil, plop it on a cookie tin, stick it in the oven and cook until golden brown.

You could even serve it with some marinara sauce. We were given this with buffalo wings for football Sunday and wow, I became a pigskin fan. If that meal was served to me every Sunday, I’d never miss a game.

The outside of this pizza bread was nice and crunchy, the inside was warm, oozing with cheese, and filled with meat. Nothing can beat meat, cheese, and grease. Just sayin’.
