Today I am starting again. As I stated yesterday I had done some major back sliding in the last few weeks. So today we start again. We begin with no fast food. It’s not good for me, it’s all empty calories and I have to stay away from it. Desserts get limited down to no more than two a week, and only small portions of the chosen treat.
Desserts need to be looked at as a treat, not a right. Cakes pies and candy in all of their forms are not something that can be looked as something I deserve. They should be something that is a once in a while pleasure to be enjoyed and then stopped. One problem I have is turning wants into needs and sugar is really never a need.
I will begin to exercise on Monday. Expect to hear about that in this column. I know exercise is essential but just the idea, for some reason, seems painful to me. But Monday I start and I will report here about it every day for at least three weeks as there is a theory out there that a new habit is ingrained after twenty one days.
The plus side here will be to eat more salads and vegetables and to read and follow the books I have selected to help me on my way. I have the inspirational ideas in my head, but now the practical and how to, advice needs to be added and followed. Whole fruit and smaller amounts of animal protein will also be a change made.
That’s the new beginning. I start today and will see you tomorrow.
