(PCM) I think my Valentine’s Day gift got here a bit early with the news that Oreo will be introducing their new limited edition Red Velvet Oreo Cookie this February.
The release of the Red Velvet Oreo cookie will mark the first time that a completely new cookie flavor and color has been introduced since the Golden Oreo back in 2004. Oreo claims that the new cookie will still have the classic Oreo chocolate cookie taste, but feature a cream cheese flavored filling.
Red Velvet is a flavor that only continues to grow in popularity as the years go by and a survey shows that it being offered and mentioned on restaurant and bakery menus has grown by over 500 percent over the past 10 years.
In addition to traditional Oreo cookies there have been several different limited edition flavors over the years such as Fruit Punch, Green Tea, Lemon Ice, Strawberry Milkshake, Peanut Butter, Berry Burst, Candy Corn (which we were unfortunately never able to find), Cookie Dough, Mint, and of course Pumpkin Spice.
The new Red Velvet Oreo’s will be available nationwide on February 2nd and a few lucky fans that visit OREORedVelvetRope.com can win a chance to sample the new cookie flavor.
