Why You Should Make the Switch to Olive Oil

Switch to olive oil and you can cut your overall risk of cancer by 13 percent! In fact, researchers at the University of Oxford say that olive oil may be just as effective in the prevention of colon cancer as fresh fruits and veggies. A diet high in olive oil has also been shown to reduce colon, breast, and skin cancers!

Unlike other fats, olive oil doesn’t contain dangerous trans-fatty hydrogenated oils, found in butter and other packaged foods. Instead, it’s high in monounsaturated fat, which helps lower bad cholesterol, along with a number of other health benefits. Diets rich in the oil have been shown to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of developing Alzheimers and even gallstones.
