You’ve heard it a million times: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you want to stay fit, healthy, and on top of your game, you have to eat breakfast everyday. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time – it can be as quick as grabbing a Greek yogurt on your way out the door!
Stuck trying to decide what to eat in the morning? Here are a few celebrity favorites, from Dr. Oz’s overnight oatmeal to Gwyneth Paltrow’s banana buckwheat pancakes!
Dr Oz: “Mix uncooked oats, milk, and yogurt together in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and leave in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, top the mixture with nutritious add-ins of your choice. The possibilities are endless for this high-protein, low-calorie, satisfying morning treat!”
Gwyneth Paltrow: “Buckwheat and banana pancakes. I’ve got a thing for pancakes. This combination of nutty buckwheat and sweet, sticky banana is just great. You could sprinkle chopped walnuts on the pancakes as they’re cooking for a full-on pancake-meets-banana bread experience.” Get the recipe here!
Kelly Osbourne: “Raisin Bran with lowfat milk or two egg whites with lowfat cheese,” and for a midmorning snack, “sliced cucumbers or dill pickles.”
Lauren Conrad: “Eating breakfast will control your appetite while also revving up your metabolism, which will help burn more calories throughout the day. I usually have an egg white veggie omelet for breakfast!”
Christina Perri: “An überprotein shake with strawberries, peaches, cherries, acai berry, peanut butter, coconut milk, hemp antioxidants and whey protein.”
Carrie Underwood: “A vanilla smoothie with pea protein powder, half a banana, a cup of berries, almond milk and ice. Or I’ll make a tofu scramble with whatever I’ve got in the fridge, like spinach, onions and peppers, with salsa on top. If I’m working out in the morning, I’ll also have an orange or a grapefruit. And black coffee. I like a little caffeine boost,” the star told Self.
Brooklyn Decker: “I love nuts! They’re usually almonds or cashews. I always have them with me.”
Jillian Michaels: “Eating a hearty breakfast helps reduce levels of the hunger hormone ghrelin, keeping you satisfied throughout the morning and allowing your mind to focus on things other than your next food fix.”
