(PCM) We already know that the Fitbit wearable fitness tracker can pretty much do it all from tracking workout routines and sleep cycles to monitoring eating habits, however did you know that it can also monitor the exact moment that your heart breaks. A 28-year old student by the name of Koby Soto sadly discovered this feature when ,while wearing his Fitbit, he received an “unexpected call” from his boyfriend who decided to call it quits.
Soto reveals that he had thought things were going well for the couple, as they had been seeing each other for quite sometime and saw each other nearly every single day, however sadly his partner did not feel the same way. Later that night while Soto was attempting to get some sleep, he noticed that his heart rate had heightened to go along with his heightened emotional state. He decided to turn on his Fitbit app and check things out and that is when he made the discovery that the Fitbit had tracked the exact moment when his heart was broken after receiving the phone call.
In fact, it tracked his heart rate throughout the entire break-up as the call came in around 12.30 pm and the graph showed Soto’s immediate distress as his beats per minute jumped up from 72 to 88. It then remained elevated for the rest of the day, peaking at 118. Being kind of a self-proclaimed geek, Soto decided to share his findings online and he has now become overwhelmed by the response.
Soto says that everyone has been incredibly supportive since he first posted about his experience and have been offering him everything from positive tips and hugs to even another date. Soto says he is now doing well and thanks everyone for the love and support. It is so crazy to think that now technology even has the ability to track human emotion, definitely makes us wonder what’s next!
