(PCM) Period, “that time of the month”, a visit from Aunt Flo, on the rag, no matter how you describe it a monthly menstrual cycle is something that millions of women across the world deal with each and every single day. It is generally something that a lot of women dread and certainly not something that we choose to talk about very openly.
A company called THINX wants to change all that and have created an amazing new panties line that promise to be “stain and leak resistant, wick moisture and provide anti-bacterial support”. Could the days of shopping for endless tampons and maxi-pads be finally coming to an end?
According to their website, where you can order THINX panties in a variety of super-cute styles, “THINX is made up of THINX QuadTECH, super-thin high-performance materials that resist stains and leaks, wick moisture and provide anti-bacterial support. The first line of THINX can completely replace panty liners on days when you want light support or it can act as back up to your traditional disposable or washable/reusable methods on heavier days.” Sounds like an absolute dream come true!
THINX is the brain-child of Antonia Dunbar, Miki and Radha Agrawal and they come in three different styles. Hiphugger ($34), cheeky ($29), and thong ($24) and although the price is a bit high for panties, they are completely reusable and think of all the money you will be saving not having to purchase all those pads and tampons each and every month. Thus far the feedback on the THINX panties has been fantastic and many of the reviews claim they actually work. THINX has also partnered up with the startup AFRIPads to give seven pads to a girl in the developing world for every pair of underwear sold. Not a bad deal at all!
What do you think? Would you be willing to put THINX to the test?
